APPROACH

The Present Therapy is a place where healing can happen. When you are present, that moment is genuine, precious and impactful. A word “present” has several meanings and one of them I like the most is the meaning to be a gift, a gift to you, to your life, your happiness, confidence and improved quality of your life.

To Be(come) You.

My name is Zdenka Goralikova, Registered Psychotherapist at the College of Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario (CRPO).

I work with a relational approach of therapy based on the Gestalt therapy. I apply also talk, body informed therapy based on self effective use of myself. My intuition and ability to be present in a session are my biggest gifts. With curiosity, creativity and gentleness we will work together to explore what is standing in your way of being fully you. I will meet you to:

  • Acknowledge the field we work together, the relationship we establish and build;

  • Have a dialogue about your issue(s) you are facing with compassion and respect;

  • We will unfold each layer of potential limitation either in beliefs, perceptions and explore together new or different ones;

  • I will support you in your personal work and challenge potential resistances that may occur in the present moments;

  • I will cheer for you to let you see and feel your progress. Join me in discovering yourself.

What is Gestalt Therapy?

Developed by Fritz Perls, a psychoanalyst, in the 1950s and 1960s. The Gestalt therapy aims to make the person “whole” or “complete” by developing self-awareness, overcoming incapacitating defences, releasing pent-up feelings and giving full range to the potential for growth, (Gestalt, is a German origin word that means “pattern” or “configuration”). The Gestalt therapy resembles other humanistic approaches in its emphasis on the expressive and dynamic aspects of human beings, it focuses on the present moment - here and now. The clients are asked to experience things rather than imagine them, and to feel rather than think. The relationship between the client and the therapist reflects the “living in the now” emphasis.
